Fans of the legendary Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip have seen both John 5 and Wednesday 13 rock its annual “Party in the Parking Lot” concert celebrations over the years. Now, two of hard rock’s most popular performers are taking that Sunset Strip energy on the road together.
John 5 has announced that his solo project, John 5 and The Creatures, will welcome horror-rocker Wednesday 13 as its vocalist for a special run of summer and fall 2027 tour dates. It’s the first time the guitarist has added a dedicated frontman to his solo band, opening the door to a setlist that spans nearly every era of his extraordinary career as the guitarist for some of heavy metal and hard-rock’s greatest bands.

John 5’s solo career has been equally prolific, producing a dozen albums that showcase his distinctive mash-up of metal, country, and bluegrass guitar work, including his latest release, Ghost.
Wednesday 13 is equally prolific. Whether fronting Maniac Spider Trash, Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13, Murderdolls, or his solo career, he has built a devoted following through theatrical live performances and a signature blend of metal and horror themes.

For fans of the Sunset Strip’s rich hard rock history, this pairing feels especially fitting. Two longtime Rainbow Bar & Grill “Party in the Parking Lot” and Whisky A Go-Go veteran performers are joining forces for what promises to be one of 2027’s hottest hard rock tours.
Rather than focusing solely on his acclaimed instrumental catalog, the tour will revisit music from the many artists who helped make John 5 one of rock’s most sought-after guitarists. Fans can expect songs associated with Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Mötley Crüe, and David Lee Roth, along with selections from his own solo albums.
‘Having such an amazing showman as Wednesday 13 join me will ensure the performances are killer.‘
— John 5
The first confirmed performance is already on the calendar. John 5 and The Creatures featuring Wednesday 13 will make their debut next July at Germany’s legendary Wacken Open Air festival, with more dates to be announced soon.
“I’ve really missed playing these songs that for years were so much a part of my life,” said John 5 in his tour announcement. “Having such an amazing showman as Wednesday 13 join me will ensure the performances are killer. And to have the first show be the Wacken festival in 2027 is truly awesome.”

Wednesday 13, who hails from Charlotte, North Carolina, and has long been a familiar face on the Sunset Strip concert scene, said he’s eager to hit the road, too.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be sharing the stage with John 5,” he said.

“We’ve been friends for years and have toured together dating back to 2010,” continued Wednesday13. “So many of the bands he’s been part of have influenced me, and getting the chance to sing these songs with him is a real honor.”
For more than three decades, John 5 has built a reputation as one of rock’s premier guitarists, recording and performing with an extraordinary list of artists that includes Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, David Lee Roth, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Meat Loaf, Dolly Parton, and currently, Mötley Crüe. His latest solo release, Ghost, was released last year to widespread critical acclaim.
